I also use a Marmot 20 liter pack which does have a thin hipbelt, but it is more limited space-wise and weighs a couple of ounces more. Because it’s basically a single compartment stuff bag, I did have to make sure the items inside were distributed ozark trail canopy properly. This tent was close to foolproof when it came to the rain fly because it was already connected. I tried actually sewing one on, but I don’t have the right size buckle to go with the strap, so might won’t hold tight. I might actually pick up another for my son to use.

I’ve carried it in bad weather, including rain and snow. Some days this bag was heavier than I would have chosen it to be. However, it took a pretty good beating and has held up. I backpack in the backcountry of the Sierra Nevada. And I do day hikes in Sequoia National Park and on the coast. I sweated just a bit but not too much since the walk was short (and I didn’t want to sweat after a shower).

I took this pack on a 5-day mountain bike ride from Pittsburgh, Pa., to Washington, D.C., and it performed very well. Most of the shortcomings become less so with lighter loads and more moderate terrain. And yes, no matter what, some performance characteristics are only adequate for seasoned cyclists used to paying 10x or more for their gravel bikes. And yes again, the Ozark Trail G.1 Explorer is only available in two sizes. The first 2 days on the trail were going to be unfair.

I decided to get this one for a light hike I was going to be doing while camping. Not the best choice for long trips or hikers who need to carry a large amount ozark trail backpack of gear. This roomy and practical backpack works well for a multi-day hike. The Ozark Trail (OT) is one of America’s premier distance hiking trails.

Shoulder straps are lightweight mesh-lined with very little padding. I can’t think of a reason not to give it 5 stars. I priced other internal frame daypacks before my trip and this was by far the cheapest.
