Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of the Missouri Ozarks on the Ozark Trail. Enjoy views of the Ozark landscape as you gain 500 feet of elevation up 2.5 miles to the top of Stegall Mountain. Camp out at the top overnight, catching a glimpse of a full ozark trail backpack sky of stars if it’s clear. After Middle Fork, head into the 29-mile Karkaghne section, which mixes sweeping wetland prairies and ridge-lined valley views through the Sutton Bluff Recreation Area. Keep an eye out for a short spur trail between Sutton Bluff campground and Highway TT which leads to Grasshopper Hollow, the largest fen (peat-forming wetland) in non-glaciated North America.
Some 1-person tents will have two major spars or spines that ozark trail chair cross for the main support structure. Aside from the main pack bag, there is a small zippered compartment on the front, that, depending on how much you have stuffed inside, is pretty tight. I managed to fit my headlamp, lighter, map, compass, and some tp in the pocket. Fit and finish were pretty good — no loose seams or stitching. Stitches appeared evenly spaced and of uniform distance from the fabric edges. There is a lack of reinforcement on the pack’s taffeta bottom, though. Shoulder straps are lightweight mesh-lined with very little padding.
If a customer encounters an issue with their backpack during the warranty period, they can contact Ozark Trail customer service for assistance. The company will either repair the product or provide a replacement, depending on the nature of the issue and the specific warranty terms. To ensure a smooth warranty process, customers should keep their receipt and any original documentation, such as the user manual, to avoid any complications. That being said, there’s one minor issue I’ve encountered — the shoulder pad on the left side has an annoying twist.
Many higher quality tents could cost 3 or 4 times that amount. It was one of those planned events in 2020 that was delayed for years, from what else, but the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the trip was three years in the making, the anticipation was doubly intense. Here’s another AWESOME thing about the Ozark Trail Atka day pack.
