The Ozark Trail: A Guide to Hiking Missouri’s Mountains

I carried this daypack back n forth on a trail to the shower while camping. The bag stayed in place ozark trail chair on my back using the sternum strap. At 35 liters, this pack is perfect for day trips or for hikers who don’t need to carry a lot of gear on the trails. Also a good choice for youngsters who are new to hiking, or who need a rugged pack for toting school items.

I know some will immediately dismiss my review simply because I bought this pack at WalMart. I’ve been attempting to drop weight for the past several years, mostly because my knees can’t handle it. My shelters have gotten lighter as have my sleeping system — next in line for a diet was my carry system. Funds, however, were non existent and my CFO (i.e. my wife) wouldn’t increase my discretionary fund. Wetlands give way to ridgelines at the start of the Blair Creek section. The 26-mile route follows Blair Creek south as it carves down a valley through oak-hickory-pine forest before merging with the emerald waters of the Current River.

On the other hand, the Ozark Trail tumbler is made of high-grade, double-walled stainless steel and is vacuum-sealed—so pretty much the same as the Yeti. It’s also BPA-free and ozark trail canopy has a “no sweat” design, but doesn’t have a slider on the lid. Estimated shipping time is approximately 3-5 business days from the time your order is placed and is subject to change. We got a taste of the Ozark Trail in Missouri in 2018 We are going back to conquer another 22.7 mile section in the fall of 2019, when it will hopefully be a little cooler than our first trip. We will also explore one of the favorite state parks in the Ozarks while we are there. On the small side, so it won’t work for hikers who need a spacious pack.

Be prepared to face changing weather conditions out in the wilderness. Bring enough water for your trip or a way to purify water to make it safe to drink. Many of the creeks and streams look crystal clear, but it’s still smart to make sure any impurities are removed with pumps or tablets before drinking the water.

Choose this pack if you prefer a smaller yet spacious design, as it has useful features and the durability of larger options. Outdoor activities such as hiking and biking, and also for school. The front and hip straps make it very comfortable and takes alot of the pressure of your shoulders and back. The Missouri Ozarks in southeastern Missouri are part of the Ozark Highlands, an area covering nearly 47,000 square miles in Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. It is by far the most extensive mountainous region between the Appalachians and the Rocky Mountains. The Ozark Trail and the trail networks in Missouri provide a hiker’s paradise. While this pack won’t work for everyone, it’s a practical size for day trips, light travelers, and kids.

I drooled over all the lightweight packs from the major manufacturers for a few years. There’s no way I can justify paying five times more for something that might carry just as well. This pack has no extraneous features, save for the small front zip pocket and an internal hydration sleeve. There are no compression straps or other means of securing anything to the outside of the pack, aside from the “daisy chain” on the front. My only knock on it would be the lack of a small water bottle pocket. All told, I’ve had the pack on my back for about 50 miles.

I don’t make it a habit of buying my gear from Walmart, but this was a excellent purchase. I use this pack on a daily basis to carry my office clothes while I ride my bike to work and to carry light loads while out Geocaching. I priced other internal frame daypacks before my trip and this was by far the cheapest. I took this pack on a 5-day mountain bike ride from Pittsburgh, Pa., to Washington, D.C., and it performed very well. Watching ice melt was probably the most difficult task of the tests I performed—only because it seemed to take forever for the ice to melt in each tumbler.
