Huffy 24″ Cranbrook Girls Cruiser Bike with Perfect Fit Frame, Silver

I should have brought at least two spares to have a higher margin of safety. I found this Huffy bicycle on the side of a road. Aside from trashed tires and one flat tube, it mostly needed just a cleaning to make it presentable. I shelled out for two new, slightly wider tires (no whitewalls), tubes, and handlebar grips, removed the decals, and added a bell and reflectors I already had. The front fork and chainguard were a very dull silver (a.k.a., gray) that detracted from the look of the chrome fenders, so I sprayed on two coats of Rustoleum gloss white. This 24″ cruiser is comfortable to ride and has so many stylish features.

Whatever the case, my wish for a relaxed, sit-down lunch stop at the Shell Station was now shot to pieces. I would have to bust out the wrenches and Phillips screwdriver to disconnect the rear coaster brake and undo the rear axle due to the lack of quick releases. More unnerving was the realization that the ruptured tube was not salvageable and that I’d have to use the only spare tube in my emergency kit to replace it. I had patches for punctures, but it didn’t occur to me earlier that split tubes were a real possibility with this bike.

There were much more cars on the road in the afternoon than during the wee hours of the day. A funny thing was that motorcyclists kept waving as I was crawling back up the pass. This has never happened to me before when I was not riding a motorcycle. Maybe they thought a cruiser bicycle with a round honking headlight was “close enough” to being huffy mountain bike a Harley-Davidson’s brethren? I have the exact same bike with the exact same problem.

Women’s Airway Cruiser Bike lets you take cruising to the next level. The combination of easy-to-use twist shift gears and a lightweight perfect fit aluminum frame makes this a great cruiser bike. Front and rear alloy cantilever brakes deliver solid control, and a Microshift 6-speed twist shifter and Shimano derailleur combine to deliver incredibly smooth shifting. The perfect fit aluminum cruiser frame with integrated rear rack combines durability, comfort, and convenience.

I, too, went to sleep—at least for the next seven hours. It wasn’t nearly enough to wipe out the sleep debt from the night before, but at least the bed was more comfortable than the weeds. This beautiful bike is the perfect ride for your girl who is ready for a bigger bike and loves to spend time outside. She’ll love every chance to cruise on the Good Vibrations bike from Huffy.

Took it back to Walmart to have it repaired. Sounds like they just created a defective product and need to do a recall. If the chain tension was not the problem, you might need to check the bearings. Huffys almost never have sealed bearings and they can be over under tightened, either being a problem. You say it is only at a specific spot in the rotation which leads me to believe your chainring being slightly off center (I have not found one 100% perfect) is causing the popping.

If the tire pressure is too high, the tires unseat from the wheels, allowing the tube to escape and pop like a balloon. So the night before I inflated the tires right up to what I thought was the “safe threshold,” which experience told me was 40 PSI on this bike (still 15 PSI under the maximum pressure labeled on the sidewalls). I wanted to have the lowest possible rolling resistance for this ride, after all. Flip the bike on it’s back and spin the cranks slowly. If it is a freewheel pedal, it backwards since this will not engage the sprocket.

After a while of riding the chain broke and fell off on the road leaving me without brakes headed into traffic. I suggest buying a new chain for these bikes. So far I’ve had to replace quit a few of the parts on this bike, including the plastic pedals, the handle bar grippers, the chain, and both inner tubes( which suddenly popped with no sign of a puncture). It’s a good looking bike but just about everything on it is trash.

And like a heavyweight fighter who had just won the world champion belt after 15 rounds, the Huffster immediately retired for the night. It was a particular relief to make it out of the Poudre Canyon shortly after the last remnants of daylight disappeared.
