Tents, Tumblers, Canopies and more

We both know that we will do whatever it takes to hike EVERY INCH of this trail that we can hike. Our hosts graciously let us shovel some food in our mouths before people start to gather around us. It turns out the kind man in the orange shirt is Phil, the director of the OHTA. He introduces us to several folks who are key to the operation and expansion of the OHT. Their current mission is to fill in the gaps between Matney Knob and the Ozark Trail on the border of Arkansas and Missouri.

There’s a reason why makers of professional-grade canopies only use straight-leg frames. Get ready for camping season and be sure to pick the outdoor shelter essential, the Ozark Trail Canopy Cover. Provides a shelter to shield out rain and protect from sunlight. Setting up the tent is a simple as extending the frame and raising the legs into place, and can be done by just one person in a few minutes, nothing unique or out of the ordinary here. The included carrying bag is made of denier polyester and is pretty well constructed.

That’s why when you dive into online reviews, you see slant leg tents that have broken at different connection points, and customers complaining that it failed after only a few uses. As we mentioned above, the canopy of a 10×10 slant leg tent is 40% smaller than a straight leg canopy tent of the same size. So, right off the bat, you’re saving money because there is less soft goods material. It’s advertised as a 10×10 tent, but your canopy is actually 7.8’ x 7.8’, for about 61 square feet of space under the canopy.

The easily recognizable logo has been seen by nearly everyone at youth soccer tournaments or beach vacations in recent years. And compared to some of the tents in the EZ-Up lineup, it sells for almost a 70% discount. One could, in theory, purchase a new Ozark canopy every year (which they might need to!) and still come out ahead over the years vs. purchasing a more expensive alternative. The canopy fabric is made of a lightweight denier polyester, offering water resistant features and 50+ UPF, which we love. Being protected from the suns harmful UVB rays is probably why you wanted a canopy tent in the first place, and this Ozark Trail tent meets all criteria in this department.

Built with durability and comfort in mind, this bike is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a reliable ride. He is a dedicated backcountry explorer and a trained Wilderness First Responder. Tyler has hiked every mountain range in the US and summited Highpoints in several US states as well as Germany. His favorite outdoor destinations are the Canadian Rockies, the Black Hills of ozark trail chair South Dakota, Mt. Tongariro in New Zealand, and the San Juan Region of Colorado. For casual outings as well as possible commercial use or for tailgating, this is a fantastic and trusted choice.

We nod and laugh, remarking how we are always hungry on trail. He invites us to join in the festivities, to eat food and if we have time, to join their annual all team meeting! So we did what hikers do and we grab some plates, pile food up, and have a seat. The terrain was very rocky with slick wet leaves piled all over trail. It was slower going than we anticipated but that’s ok. There were plenty of water sources today though we did not need any of it as we packed out 2 liters each.

By the end of the first section the AllTrails maps say we’ve done half the allotted miles but we see that we’d reached our destination. Turns out these trails are out and back, so the total miles were doubled. Each trail was identified as a backpacking trail so I assumed that the total trail miles was going in one direction. Though Washerrr and I have hiked 25+ miles in one day, it was never easy and I find myself relieved that we only have 9ish miles to go for the day.

No more floundering around to keep up appearances or feeling this little incessant motor inside of me telling me I must keep producing or moving to be worth any amount of anything. I wish everyone could have this type of experience, of oneness with self and with universe. We are a part of something larger and that gets mistranslated in modern day living. I hear the thunderstorm raging outside and I wonder, are we really going to hike in this? We ozark trail canopy do not have to pack up a wet tent, and we can come home to a warm dry place and another shower if we wanted. It’s an ideal situation to keep hiking despite the rain.
