GCI Outdoor makes several rocking chairs, and we plan to try more of them to see if they’re any better than the Freestyle Rocker, which we weren’t enthusiastic about. We like this durable, well-constructed chair that has a frame that makes you confident to sit. In order to give the Ozark Trail Camping chair a thorough testing, we took it out to the base of the Lammermuir hills on a breezy, overcast afternoon to see how it would fare. The land manager for each parcel held by these constituents is responsible for the trail within its holdings. The trail is currently composed of thirteen sections, most of which are joined to other sections, though some gaps exist. The sections vary in length from 8 to 40 miles (13 to 64 km).
It delivers a solid baseline of build quality, comfort, and reliability that we didn’t find in other, similarly priced chairs. Weighing about 8 pounds, the Coleman chair is lighter than most traditional models, so it’s easier to grab from deep in a car trunk or ozark trail canopy to carry for long distances. If you’re unsure which camping chair to buy, you can’t go wrong with the classic Coleman Cooler Quad Chair. This time-tested classic is reasonably priced, roomy, and dependable enough to last for years. It’s not our lightest, most comfortable, or toughest pick, but it’s close enough, and it’s reasonably priced.
The cup holder was a bonus and would fit the majority of standard water bottles, cans and thermos flasks. There is no additional storage or a second cup holder but for the low price point, I wouldn’t have expected that nor is it needed. We ranked Value for Money as a 5 as this really is exceptional value considering the the build and comfort of the chair.
It ranked less well on Design and also under Performance simply due to the fact that it’s slightly bulky and large to carry over long distances – not perfect for hiking but just the ticket for camping. Some sections have restrictions on their use in order to be compatible with the goals and purposes of the various public and private landholders whose property the trail crosses. Horseback riding, mountain biking, or trail side camping may be restricted in certain environmentally sensitive areas. The 4-pound, steel-framed REI chair has an attached carry strap, rather than a carry bag (which the other chairs have). After a couple of camping trips, we concluded that a strap is more convenient than a bag—it’s quicker and easier for a kid to grab the chair and go, without parental help. This wider and longer set will provide support for larger adults with the same upright style as the traditional bagged camping chair. Has been rated for 300 pounds, but can hold more weight comfortably. Double cup holders are also extra large to hold bigger drinks.
