If you’re looking for a daypack, or a carry-on that fits everywhere, this is the deal. I sweated just a bit but not too much since the walk was short (and I didn’t want to sweat after a shower). I did finish my activities very sweetly and was able to walk and hike without carrying anything in my hands.
It turns out the kind man in the orange shirt is Phil, the director of the OHTA. He introduces us to several folks who are key to the operation and expansion of the OHT. Their current mission is to fill in the gaps between Matney Knob and the Ozark Trail on the border of Arkansas and Missouri.
Turns out these trails are out and back, so the total miles were doubled. Each trail was identified as a backpacking trail so I assumed that the total trail miles was going in one direction. Though Washerrr and I have hiked 25+ miles in one day, it was never easy and I find myself relieved that we only have 9ish miles to go for the day.

The weather was going to be great and the hammock was where I wanted to be during the restful moments of the day. The set-up was understandably a few steps shorter, which is always nice when setting up in the dark. More than once in the dark I’ve attached a rain fly upside down and we had to restart that particular step.
